Ministry of Culture and Sports, represented by Music Affairs Center, announced today the launch of the third edition of the Qatari Song Festival on the Qatar National Theater from 14 to 16 October, as part of the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.
The festival will be held in its new form under the slogan “Until now, Sidra.. Your veins lives inside us”, which is the slogan derived from the lyrics of the song of the poet Dr. Marzouq Bashir, and expresses the authentic Qatari environment, which is in line with the slogan of the National Day of the State 2021.
The festival will be held on the stage of Qatar National Theater, with the participation of a selection of Qatari and Gulf singing stars, in addition to young artistic talents, who have proven their brilliance and rise in the local music scene.
During the festival, five Qatari singers and lyric poets will be honored, namely Ali Abdul Sattar, Jassim Safar, Ibrahim Ali, Muhammad Jolo and Khalifa Jamaan.
The Qatari Song Festival comes to enhance the goals sought by Ministry of Culture and Sports in supporting the Qatari creator in the field of song and highlighting his cultural role in society, thus contributing to the provision of authentic Qatari culture with creative works that enrich the Qatari library in all diverse disciplines, especially in the areas of sound, poetry, melody and music, what makes the festival a documentation of the Qatari singing process with all its historical march, which can be presented to the current and future generations, which in turn creates a bridge of communication between creators.
