The Qatari Forum for Authors launches a book on social responsibility

The Qatari Forum for Authors announced the launch of the book “Social responsibility and its role in developing and stabilizing in the societies” by Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, the autism consultant and the director of Doha International Center for Special Needs, as part of the activities of Doha Capital of Islamic Culture for 2021.

The book was launched by Hamad Bin Khalifa University Publishing House, as part of a package of new publications, bringing the number of publications launched for this year to more than 160 diversified publications covering various fields of culture and knowledge.

Dr. Hala Al-Saeed said: “I designed a special curriculum for people with disabilities entitled “Social Responsibility”, along with many initiatives in the field of social responsibility, where I was selected among the 100 most influential Arab personalities in the field of social responsibility for the year 2019-2020”.

The writer presented a summary of the book (391) pages and is divided into 12 chapters, stressing that social responsibility is an ethical theory that falls on all of us as individuals and institutions that must be adhered to and work for the benefit of society as a whole, to maintain a balance between the economy and environmental systems.

She explained that the book deals with social responsibility, to spread awareness among members of society, and talks about its nature, objectives, types and how to apply them, and the obstacles that can stand in the way of its application, and then it show the role of Qatar in working with social responsibility at the local and international levels, and the role of Qatari women and their social responsibility with shedding light on work ethics.

She pointed out that a special part was devoted to highlighting the categories of people with disabilities. Its chapters included first identifying social responsibility, the emergence and development of social responsibility, then social responsibility in Islam, the main characteristics of social responsibility, types and objectives of social responsibility,

The book also dealt with women and their role in social responsibility in educating their children on social responsibility. It also shed light on the role of Qatari women and their social responsibility, especially in times of crisis, and the interest of Qatari government in supporting women in Qatar and motivating them to carry out their social burdens and participate in public life.

The book also highlighted initiatives by Qatari women with local and international social responsibility, the regional network for social responsibility, as well as Arab initiatives that serve social responsibility in the Arab world.
