His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, affirmed that theatrical work contributes to the development of the nation. He stressed the importance of objective criticism that builds and adds to the work of art, and plays an important role in honing the capabilities and skills of the young people participating in the University Theater Festival, who made their efforts and worked hard to present their ideas.
He encouraged youths to benefit from technical and critical experiences, and to strive to enrich their ideas by examining educational and social theories to know more about the issues they are dealing with. He also stirred them up to work on addressing these issues intelligently and objectively to serve the community.
His Excellency said: “We are confident that young people are able to tackle negative phenomena in society, through theater.”
This came during a conference held yesterday evening, after the end of the theatrical performance “Mukhtal Akliyan”, within the framework of the activities of the second session of the University Theater Festival “Our Youth on the Stage”
The University Theater Festival, which is part of the activities of “Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World” lasts until March 27th.
