The Qatari Forum for Authors made a dialogue session from the “Ethics of the Prophet” program, on the topic of Prophetic guidance and animal welfare, as part of the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.

The ninth episode of the program, which was prepared by Professor Muhammad Al-Shabrawi and presented by the journalist Salem Al-Jahoushi, shed light on very important subject (animal welfare).

The Prophet explained that Allah makes man him the Caliph of God on earth, and the determinants of his dealings with the creatures around him came in the Almighty’s saying (there is no creature on the earth or bird that flies with its wings except communities like you).

Salem Al-Jahoushi confirmed that the Prophet established the basis for the Muslim’s interaction with the environment, not for the benefit of his Muslim brother in a narrow scope, but for the general benefit, which indicates that the man is benefit to all creations in general and useful to others.

Al-Jahushi pointed out that this credit is due to the good dealing with the nations that Allah created and mentioned in Quran, rather he honored them with some of the names of the surahs, such as the cow, the bee, the ant and the elephant.

Al-Jahoushi stressed that Islam precede in the protection of animal rights and not abuse of them, not even plants, but also the environment from global warming and climate change and so on.

Al-Jahushi added that the Prophet urged to animal welfare, and he conveyed to us the news of a woman who entered the hell because of a cat that she caught, she neither fed it nor let it eat from the earth.
