Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, the play “Azef Munfared” has been performed this evening by the College of the North Atlantic team as part of the activities of the second session of the University Theater Festival “Our Youth on the Stage” which is organized by the Center for Theater Affairs, currently on the Qatar National Theater.
The play was written by the author Mona Al-Anbari and directed by Ahmed Al-Ali. In fact, the play discusses a number of social issues and conflicts in the Arab world through scenic panels, starting with youth issues and their concerns, passing through women’s issues and their rights and the conflicts they face with society. In addition to that, the play shed light on the issues of men and the burden they undertake towards their society, their family and their children. The play discusses also a number of issues that the Arab world is facing.
The festival, which comes within the activities of “Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World“, witnessed during the previous two days the performance of two plays; “Maa Martabat Sharaf” by Qatar University team, and “Mukhtal Aqliyan” by Community College team.
The University Theater Festival is still running until the festival’s prizes are announced next Saturday, when the Ministry of Culture and Sports will celebrate World Theater Day, which falls on March 27th of each year.
