Within the framework of celebrating International Women’s Day, in March 8th of each year, and the declaration of the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture “ISESCO” that 2021 is the year of women, in line with the efforts of the State of Qatar to empower women, Qatar Forum for Authors holds this evening, Tuesday, March 9th, a virtual seminar entitled “Women are the Power of Positive Change for Societies.”
The seminar is divided into two sessions. It will be opened by Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, Director General of the Forum, and followed by a speech of Dr. Hamda Al-Sulaiti, Secretary General of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.
In the first session moderated by Dr. Buthaina Al-Ansari, expert in strategic and human development, the participants are the educator and literary researcher, Hessa Al-Mansoori, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Director of the Doha International Center for People with Disabilities, and the writer Dr. Noura Al-Hanzab, in addition to the writer Badria Hamad Al-Muraikhi. In this session, Dr. Buthaina Al Ansari answers the question “How have women affected societies through the process of empowerment?”
The second session will be moderated by the Journalist, Buthaina Abdel Jalil, who sheds light on the role of women in the fields of business and science. The participants in this session are the writer, poet, and educator Samira Obeid, the writer and artist Lina Al-Aali, Dr. Rania Al-Sawalhi, Dr. Mervat Ibrahim, the writer Dr. Majd Al-Ziyara, in addition to the life skills expert Fayza Al-Nuaimi, and the writer Professor Maryam Al-Yazidi.
