The Qatari Forum for Authors held the twenty-first session of the “Mirqat Qatar for Oratory”, as part of the activities of Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Janabi, linguistic expert and supervisor of the Qatar Speech Initiative, described this session as distinctive, pointing out that it was preceded by twenty sessions that were and are still preserved within the digital platforms of the forum.
In his turn, Mr. Muhammad Al-Shabrawi, language partner of “”Mirqat Qatar for Oratory”, gave an intervention in which he talked about how to benefit from the Mirqat archive and the sessions that will be presented later, saying that :“We have benefited a lot from the various speeches witnessed by the previous sessions of Mirqat by strengthening what I witnessed it from strengths among the preachers, in return for reducing the weaknesses I witnessed.”
This session witnessed a commendable competition between the orators regarding the types of rhetoric, including the memorized, critical, read and improvisational.
The orator Maryam Al-Subaie presented a written sermon at the third level entitled “The Fifth Umrah” during which she dealt with enduring hardships for the sake of Umrah, and the sermon included a letter of apology to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and everything around it. Also the orators Samar Munib, Ahmed Azab, and Yasser Al-Wakeel also gave many sermons, all of which were subject to arbitration.
