The Qatari Forum for Authors presented a dialogue session on “Prophet’s Guidance and Human Dignity”, as part of the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.
The eighth episode of the program “The Ethics of Prophet”, prepared by Professor Muhammad Al-Shabrawi, and presented by the journalist Salem Al-Jahoushi, shed light on the biography of the Prophet Muhammad and his honorable companions, and inspired lessons from the ethics of Prophet.
With regard to the principles of human dignity, the journalist Salem Al-Jahoushi emphasized that dignity is a universal principle that does not accept division, based on the fact that Allah made the man a vicegerent on earth.
Al-Jahoushi explained that the Holy Qur’an established the morals transactions, and the foundations of a healthy society, as there are no grudges or quarrels.
He also denounced during the session some practices that are based on hateful racism and that conflict with heavenly values because of color, gender or religion, citing the hadith of the Prophet, which prohibited class and racial discrimination more than 1,400 years ago.
Regarding to the legitimate rights of women, Al-Jahoushi stressed on the Prophet’s honoring of her. So that Prophet had honored the women in the time of ignorance, so Islam forbade female infanticide, and ordered her to inherit what her parents left.
Islam magnified the status of women as a mother and urged her to honor her and be kind to her, and the honor of Islam for women was that the Holy Prophet singled her out with an immortal will in his farewell sermon, to treat women well.
Al-Jahoushi also highlighted during the session the principle of justice and equality, where the Prophet, acknowledged that everyone is equal before the truth, and warns against injustice in its various forms.
