Hamad Al-Azabah: Qatar’s efforts promotes and supports the Islamic culture

Mr. Hamad Al-Azabah, General Coordinator of the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021, said that the partners have a prominent role in promoting the joint cooperation to achieve the objectives of all events, due to their great experience in organizing the supporting events, as well as their infrastructure, which enriches the hosting activities, which constitute an accumulation, are represented in cultural, heritage and artistic experiences and projects that benefit the cultural scene in the state and achieve the objectives of the hosting activities.

He stressed that this matter reflects Qatar’s interest in heritage, culture and the arts. Al-Azabah added that this partnership with many authorities and institutions in the state reflects the keenness of the Ministry of Culture and Sports to strengthen cooperation with the various authorities concerned with culture and arts in the country to achieve the integration of joint efforts, and to enhance the cultural and artistic scene, in addition to promoting a culture of openness, and emphasizing the Consolidating the principle of cultural diversity, which Qatar is always keen to promote.

Al-Azabah pointed out that the activities of Doha capital of culture in the Islamic world 2021, are held under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, which was keen from the first moment of the preparatory meetings to provide all forms of support to the strategic partners and the participating parties to hold distinguished events throughout 2021.

He said also that this hosting comes in cooperation with Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Qatar National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, and the strategic partners in the state such as Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Museums, Cultural Village Foundation “Katara”, Qatar Foundation, and many other entities in the country.

The General Coordinator added that the activities of Doha capital of culture in the Islamic world 2021, have particular importance in presenting the image of Qatar to the Islamic world, with all the uniqueness and distinction of its cultural scene, which reflects the national character, enhances national identity, and highlights the nobility of its historical and archaeological landmarks.

He pointed out that these events are organized in a manner befitting Doha’s historical and Islamic status, which confirms that Doha is a distinguished cultural destination in the Islamic world, not only throughout the current year, but will remain so, because of its ancient cultural heritage, and it is characterized by a refined cultural scene.

Hamad Al-Azabah stressed that the program prepared by Ministry of Culture and Sports, in cooperation with strategic partners and participating parties, is based on the concerted efforts to attract visitors to Islamic countries to discover the historical Islamic monuments that extend throughout the state, including the Al Zubarah Castle, which is listed on the World Heritage List of “UNESCO”. All these landmarks are unique and civilizational models in the Islamic world.

He added that this matter reflects the extent of keenness to enhance the grand perceptions of hosting in general. In addition to that the events aim to push and develop a new tourism pattern based on investing in Doha’s architectural heritage, which the capital is rich in. It is a heritage that reflects the capital’s interest in the aesthetics of Islamic art and taking care of it and then shows it to your visitors.

Al-Azabah said that Doha seeks, through this hosting to introduce the cultural experience of Qatar and its efforts to promote the Islamic culture, and to highlight the urban development that happening, so that Qatar presents a model for modern civilization, especially since the country is on the verge of a global entitlement, represented in hosting FIFA World Cup 2022, as well as promoting timeless Islamic values, in particular based on science and human dignity, and inspiring new generations in the Islamic world, as well as enriching the global cultural scene through a productive and active role, enhancing the Islamic cultural heritage, encouraging creativity and innovation as civilizational values ​​that enrich Islamic civilization, and focusing on the cultural diversity as an added value to Islamic culture and Islamic countries in general.

He concluded by saying that the Islamic culture bears authentic values, characterized by uniqueness among the cultures of the world, in addition to its vibrant vitality, whose its essence is inspired from the eternal Islamic values.
