The organizing committee to host the events of Doha the capital of culture in the Islamic world 2021, issued the fifth edition of the electronic newsletter “Our Culture is Enlightenment” for the month of June. The newsletter included a tour of the Library of the Museum of Islamic Art, and its holdings that revive the Palestinian memory, through an exhibition held under the title “Beautiful Memories of Palestine”, and will continue until September 30th.
The programs include virtual seminars, embroidery workshops, landscape painting, and others, in addition to a variety of other rare books in Arabic and English.
Within the context of the tangible role of the Museum of Islamic Art in hosting activities, the newsletter focused on the museum’s organization of a set of programs and events that include school activities, a photography competition for Islamic art, and other activities within the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.
The issue opened the way to talk about the Qatar National Museum, under the title “Qatar National Museum… The Blooming Desert Rose in the Heart of Doha.”
The newsletter also sheds light on the “Critiques and their approaches” initiative, which is organized by the Qatari Forum for Authors, as part of the activities Al-which hosted Dr. Suad Al-Enezi, Professor of Critical Studies at Kuwait University, who noted Qatar’s role in enriching Arab culture, in addition to the forum’s launch of new publications within the hosting activities.
The newsletter referred to the organization of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for an educational workshop entitled “Islamic Creativity Camp”, as part of the activities, in addition to the organization of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for a virtual cultural symposium entitled “Positions of the Moon in the Treasures of Qatar’s Heritage”, which was organized by the Ministry for its employees and school principals. It included also an article entitled “Prose Art in the Umayyad Era,” and offered a translation of Al-Khwarizmi, who is credited with developing mathematical sciences.
The newsletter highlighted on the activities of Ministry of Education and Higher Education, under the title “An inspiring and effective educational institution”. At the end of the newsletter, Mr. Faleh Hussain Al-Hajri wrote an article entitled “Qatar holds the Flag of Arab and Islamic Culture”.
