Qatar Scientific Club announced the timetable for the Challenge and Innovation Forum, which started receiving the applications last month, and is currently receiving it until August 31.
The list of participants will be announced next September 15. The forum, which will be held within the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021, will be opened on November 7 and will continue until November 21, which is the day that will witness the closing ceremony and the announcement of the winners.
The forum, which is held under the slogan “With mind, we solve knots” includes a number of competitions, events and interactive scientific programs, which aim to motivate and encourage all segments of the Qatari and international community from the youth category, and is the first of its kind in the region. It includes two main competitions, an exhibition of the best inventions, and a collective innovation competition (hackathon).
The competition to showcase the best inventions aims to showcase the inventors’ projects individually in the first two days of the forum, then the participants will be divided into groups, where they will compete to develop their unique ideas from the idea stage to the startup stage within only 48 hours, and the necessary support will be provided to all participants during the competitions.
The value of the total prizes in the first phase (inventions exhibition) reaches 100,000 dollars, during which the participants will compete with their inventions in a dedicated pavilion, and a group of judges will evaluate the best ideas during the first two days, and in the second phase (the hackathon), the value of the total prizes reaches 150,000 The participants will be divided into groups, and compete with other teams to develop new ideas from the idea stage to the startup stage in a hackathon-style competition for 48 hours.
The forum contributes to attracting the interest of the international community to learn more about the latest developments in the fields of innovation and modern technologies. In addition to providing the opportunity to learn about a number of youth participation and achievements.
The forum will also include a number of accompanying events such as an exhibition of interactive intelligence devices, workshops to attract and motivate young people to engage in science and innovation, and much more.
