The Cultural Village Foundation “Katara”, announced that there is a great turnout in its short story competition “Relatives and Wombs”, which is expected to announce its results on the 29th of next July.
Katara said that these participations amounted to 438 short stories, of which 32 from GCC countries, 189 from Egypt and Sudan, 101 from the Levant and Iraq, and 89 from the Maghreb countries, while those posts from non-Arab countries reached about 27 participations.
Katara launched its short story competition, within the activities of Doha the capital of culture in the Islamic world 2021, from the beginning to the end of Ramadan month. It chose the topic “Relatives and Wombs” as a main focus of the short story competition.
Katara explained that it had allocated 3 prizes for the competition, the first amounting to 15,000 riyals, the second 12,000 riyals, and the third 10,000 riyals.
It also she specified a number of conditions for participation, including that the text of the story should not be less than 1500 words and not more than 5000 words, and that it should not have been previously published in Any of the media, to be specific to the competition only.
It is noteworthy that Cultural Village Foundation launched a series of competitions during last period, within the activities of Doha the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.
